"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."

I can't even remember when I last wrote here. It's been several years, and that was itself a reboot/relaunch of sorts. Not so sadly, you won't find any of those old posts, they are gone. As the title of this post suggests, I have killed the past in order to forge the path ahead.

But, a brief recap for the uninitiated.

In November of 2012, full of youthful energy and ideas, I decided that within one year's time (Halloween 2013) I would write, shoot, edit, and release a feature-length film. As crazy as it sounds, it honestly didn't seem as impossible as it turned out to be. I had the resources, I had the (moral) support, and I was doing okay for a few months. Then life happened, as it is wont to do. I was forced to put a lot of things on the back-burner.

I won't say that I gave up on any of my aspirations, but they became very difficult to justify actively pursuing, practically speaking. And obviously, we can take the sound-bite quotes from successful people like "if you can't justify it, you shouldn't be doing it" etc. But everyone's journey is different, mine was no exception. I never stopped writing, but being blocked for months at a time, struggling with depression, and life in general, it was slow, inconsistent, and messy.

Here's a non-detailed list of projects I've got in various stages of development.

- Feature-length horror film
- Feature-length science-fiction/horror film
- Feature-length comedy/horror film
- Pilot for a cable drama series
- Feature-length heist film
- Feature-length road film

So, after a few "false starts", I think it's finally time for me to get back to it in earnest. I've decided the best projects to focus on at the moment are the pilot, and the road film.

I can't promise that I'll be writing here every day, but I'll try to keep this up as best as I can, and hopefully, 2019 will be the year of change that I feel it can and will be.
