"Get busy living, or get busy dying..."

Interesting week here, vacations are either great, or terrible. No real in between for me. This one was unfortunately not great. However, spent a lot of this past week brainstorming and watching movies. So, yay? A lot of movies that were featured in the last post's image, some that weren't. - Easy Rider (1969) - Five Easy Pieces (1970) - Bottle Rocket  (1996) - Drive, He Said (1971)* - The Godfather (1972) -- director's commentary *indicating first time viewing Unfortunately, my sleep schedule suffered from one too many naps over the past few weeks, and had trouble sleeping all week. Thankfully, I'm feeling sleepy now -- purposely only slept for three hours today. In any case, yeah, watched those movies, get into the mood of the kind of time and place for one of my projects. Did it work? Maybe . It's given me a refresher of the aesthetic I want to go for. In terms of the actual project, not much headway was made in terms of story. But not for nothin...

"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."

I can't even remember when I last wrote here. It's been several years, and that was itself a reboot/relaunch of sorts. Not so sadly, you won't find any of those old posts, they are gone. As the title of this post suggests, I have killed the past in order to forge the path ahead. But, a brief recap for the uninitiated. In November of 2012, full of youthful energy and ideas, I decided that within one year's time (Halloween 2013) I would write, shoot, edit, and release a feature-length film. As crazy as it sounds, it honestly didn't seem as impossible as it turned out to be. I had the resources, I had the (moral) support, and I was doing okay for a few months. Then life happened, as it is wont to do. I was forced to put a lot of things on the back-burner. I won't say that I gave up on any of my aspirations, but they became very difficult to justify actively pursuing, practically speaking. And obviously, we can take the sound-bite quotes from successful people...
